Nevada State Museum

Katelyn's class visited the Nevada State Museum for a field trip and I was able to chaperone.  It was a great museum that I have never been to and the kids had to participate in activities and answer questions in a "homework" packet.  We had a really fun time and I would love to take the rest of my family there.
Here we are, riding on the bus!
The kids decorated Nevada bookmarks with the state birds, plants, animals, etc.

They learned about dinosaurs and fossils that had been discovered in Nevada and also learned a song about all of the counties so that they could put together a big floor puzzle.
Katelyn and Alyssa got them all right!
They walked through different areas in the museum and had to answer questions just like a scavenger hunt.  It was really fun and they learned a lot of interesting facts about Nevada.
A bunch of happy Fourth-graders!

Easter Weekend

To finish off our Spring Break week, we celebrated Easter.   Grandma and Grandpa Holt came down on Saturday afternoon and we colored eggs after dinner.

The kids came up with some really interesting techniques to dye the eggs this year.

Katelyn's Creations
 Carlee's Creations
 Clark's Creations
 Jacob's Creations
After coloring eggs, the kids went swimming while Joe, Grandma, Grandpa, and I just watched and relaxed.  We made s'mores and the evening was really nice.
Carlee just started jumping into the pool over Spring Break and won't zip up her life jacket.  She may become a great swimmer this summer!
The boys love to do jumps and poses while I take pictures of them and score their tricks.
Everybody was getting 10's tonight!

On Sunday morning we woke up to find hidden Easter baskets full of yummy treats and a few goodies.  The kids went on their egg hunts both outside and inside.  Then we quickly got ready for church and enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing Easter Sunday.
Clark's basket was in the dryer and Katelyn's was under a chair in the dining room.
Jake's basket was in the under-stairs closet, and Carlee's was in the pantry.
Clark got some fancy sunglasses and Bey Blade replacement parts.  Katelyn got some maxi dresses.  Jacob got a Ninjago Lego set, and Carlee got a Playdoh cake making set.  Every one of us was spoiled with chocolate, marshmallow eggs, jelly beans, M&M's, and Reese's eggs.  And the Easter bunny even found Grandma and Grandpa at our house and left the Hunger Games Trilogy so that they could join in the hype.
