Spring Break

For Spring Break, we were originally going to go to Baja, Mexico with some friends but Joe needed to work at the hospital for a few days and catch up on some responsibilities around our house so we relaxed at home all week.  It was nice to get a lot accomplished and enjoy being at home with no schedule or commitments.

Monday
We swam in our pool and just hung out in the house while Joe worked.  That evening, we headed down to South Point to meet the Hathaways for dinner and bowling.  We ate at Steak N Shake, a new place that we have never been to.  It was really yummy and the kids loved everything.  When we headed to the bowling alley, there were leagues going on so we couldn't bowl for the next 2 hours.  We decided to try to catch a movie but had just missed it by about 10 minutes so we hit the arcade.  After spending all of our money there, we said goodbye to the Hathaways and hit Target and Home Depot on the way home to buy supplies for home improvement projects.

Tuesday
Joe did a built-in closet organization system for the boys (pictures to come).  Again we just swam and relaxed around the house.

Wednesday
Joe took the boys golfing and the girls and I went to the ward Easter Egg Hunt.  They had a great time gathering eggs and playing at the park with friends.

When the boys got back, I grabbed Jake and then we had an Easter lunch at the Swaseys.  We hung out there for a while while Joe stayed home painting our downstairs bathroom, framing out the mirror and replacing the medicine cabinet with a built-in (pictures to come).  Then we headed to the base for immunization catch-up and flu shots.  That was a surprise for the kids!

 The kids did some really creative coloring this year with rubberbands, paper towels, tie-dyeing colors, double-dipping, and designs on their eggs.  They turned out really unique.

Thursday
We headed down to Henderson to do some summer shopping at Nordstrom Rack and other fun stores in that area.  We also had one of our favorites for dinner, Pei Wei.  Yum!!

Friday
We cranked up the music and everybody pitched in, working together to clean the house in a matter of about three hours while Joe worked.  Then we swam and played with friends that afternoon.  After dinner, we had our family movie night and watched a movie.

It was a great relaxing week and we had a lot of fun just getting things done and doing whatever we wanted.  I love Spring Break!
