15th Anniversary

Joe and I celebrated our 15th anniversary by spending the afternoon and evening together after soccer games and errands in the morning with our kids.  We had so much fun.
Married to this guy for 15 years!  I'm a lucky girl!

As is our tradition every year, we attended the temple to do sealings.  I love to do this especially on our anniversary to remember the covenants that we have made to each other, our Heavenly Father, and our eternal family.  There is so much peace and joy that comes from going to the temple with my husband.  I am so grateful that we get to spend forever with each other.

Earlier that morning, Joe had a grand idea to stop at the outlets after the temple to buy some new clothes for our night on the town.  I was not allowed to pack anything to change into, although I did bring some shoes just in case.  (He said that was fine)  We had so much fun shopping together and looking for the perfect outfit to wear for the evening.

He is so excited about his new blue suede shoes!
Joe had the worst allergies today.  I felt so bad for him because his eyes were swollen, his nose was running, and he couldn't stop sneezing.  But he was such a good sport with no complaining.

We had dinner at Carnevino and then walked over to the Venetian theater for the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Soul 2 Soul show.  I was so excited!!!  I love this country superstar couple and haven't seen them in concert for years.  It was awesome!  I did have to borrow some pictures from online because all of mine turned out blurry but it was an amazing show and such a wonderful day with my guy!

Spring Things

CHILDREN'S DISCOVERY MUSEUM
The Children's Discovery Museum was rebuilt here in Las Vegas and Carlee and I decided to check it out one afternoon after Kindergarten.  It is in a beautiful building next to the new Smith Fine Art Center.  It was fantastic and we hope to visit more often.

HOT TUB AND SHAVED ICE
We enjoyed a warmer evening playing in the hot tub and eating Sno-Cones.  We are getting anxious for summer!

AMANDA'S BABY SHOWER
I hosted a baby shower for my friend, Amanda Stewart.  She has been waiting and waiting and waiting to have a baby and we were so excited for her to welcome her new little bundle of joy.  She is having a boy and had his name picked out before he was even growing, Holden.
I served dessert waffles with lots of yummy toppings and we played games and opened gifts.  She is a great friend and is going to be an even greater mama!

IN HONOR OF Q
It is now the time in our lives when we are approaching a new decade in our birth years.  Several of our good friends are turning 40 this year and we decided to celebrate these important days with a bang!  These friends are pretty amazing and we have spent many years with them through medical school, residency, church callings, raising kids together, carpools, dance classes, sports teams, moves and transfers, and just depending on each other.   Marquessa is one such friend that I absolutely adore and respect.  We surprised Marquessa with a girl's night out, sleepover downtown, and a shopping day.  We met for dinner at Grand Lux Cafe on Friday night.  The food was delicious and we enjoyed visiting and reminiscing with each other.  We then did some shopping at H&M and other stores around the Venetian and Caesars Palace before turning in.  We stayed in 2 rooms at the Venetian Hotel and stayed up late giggling, talking, eating dessert, and giving Marquessa her gift, an Origami Owl necklace.  We each picked a charm that reminded us of her or our relationship with her and she loved it.  It was the perfect gift!

HORSEBACK RIDING LESSONS
I bought a groupon for horseback riding lessons and Katelyn has enjoyed every minute of it.  Her lessons have been at 7:00 in the morning so that she could squeeze them in before school but she was very dedicated to it for two weeks.

TAKE YOUR CHILD TO WORK DAY
The kids decided to stay home with me for "Take Your Child to Work Day".  That may be because Joe had to be in the operating room and that wouldn't go over very well with four little observers watching him.  We cleaned the house and then headed out for lunch and cupcakes from Retro Bakery.  They did such a great job and we had fun cranking up the tunes and dancing while we cleaned.  It is so nice to have motivated helpers!

HIP-HOP WITH NAPPYTABS
Katelyn had the opportunity to take a hip-hop class from my favorite choreographers, Tabitha and Napoleon Du'omo.  I have watched their work on the TV show "So You Think You Can Dance" and was so excited for her to learn from them.  In fact, I was pretty jealous!
There was some major paparazzi going on through the windows of Bunker Dance Center as the mothers watched their children learn the dance moves of NappyTabs.
Katelyn and Mia got their autographs and pictures with them after the class
