We started the drive on Wednesday afternoon after all the last-minute packing and errands were done and it was a race to get up to the cabin to pick the best room . . .
Katelyn had a great time taking pictures of us in the car on the drive
We arrived around 8:00 p.m. and it was really dark. We had no idea where the cabin was since it was off the main highway and we couldn't see any signs due to the lack of street lights. We turned around twice. Luckily, Grandma blinked the lights on and off (she used to do that when I would come home from dates and talked too long on the front porch) so we could find our home for the next three days. | All tuckered out! |
At about 12:30 a.m. on Black Friday, Joe and Clark decided to hit some stores to see if there were any good deals. We weren't looking for anything in particular but wanted the "experience". They hit Wal-mart, Toys R Us, and the University Mall in Orem. Luckily they missed the crazy early shopping. They didn't come home with anything but a few articles of clothing from Aeropostale but were out until 3:00 a.m. Later that Friday morning, the rest of us got up and the boys went fishing while we prepared for Alanna's baby shower. Kyle, Jenn, Braden, Sierra and I also did some Black Friday shopping at the Park City Outlets in the late morning.

When everyone arrived back to the cabin and were cleaned up, we started Alanna's baby shower. She and Geoff are due in January with a boy!

Saturday morning we packed up, cleaned up, and headed up to Brigham City to pick up our Christmas gifts from Mom and Dad Stuart--half a cow cut, wrapped, and prepared for yummy feasting at our house for the next year or so! We grabbed lunch with Joe's siblings (Jay and Marcia were in El Paso with Charlie and JaNay) at Chuck-a-Rama and headed back down to Grandma and Grandpa's house for pizza and a lazy Saturday night. Sunday morning we headed back home to Las Vegas.
What a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! We love that we live so much closer to family so we can spend it with them. We love and appreciate our families so much and are so thankful for all the blessings we enjoy on a daily basis. There are so many and we are truly blessed!
