Dance Recital: We Speak Dance 2011

Carlee and Katelyn both performed in dance recitals on Saturday, June 11. Grandma and Grandpa Stuart drove down the day before so that they could see all of the performances over the weekend and were lucky enough to sit through two shows :). Carlee was in the first show at 10:00 a.m. and danced to "Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair" from South Pacific. She had one boy in her class and he was the "man", both literally and in his personality. He was so cute and did a great job. Her class was combined with the younger class that meets after hers to perform the dance number. The costumes were adorable and so were the dancers. It was a really cute dance and she did really well, smiling, remembering all of the steps, and showing off to the audience. Way to go, Carlee!

After her show was over, we all piled in the car to grab some lunch before Katelyn's show. We hit the nearby McDonald's for a quick bite and then hurried back to line up outside the building again to get good seats. A gun show was going on right next door to the theater so Joe, Grandpa and the boys checked out the show while the ladies waited patiently in the sun to get the perfect seats.

Katelyn performed in an Elvis Presley trilogy to "Jailhouse Rock". She was in the class with three of her best friends so it was a party every week to, during, and back from dance class. They loved to sing at the top of their lungs to the lastest radio hits, roll down the windows and yell to people outside, and beg their drivers to take them out for ice cream, yogurt, and drinks. Dance class was definitely the highlight of Katelyn's week. Nothing is better than dancing with your best friends. The four musketeers did a fabulous job and are talented young dancers. Great job, girls!
