Visit from the Willes Cousins

Jay, Cath, and the kids stopped by on their way to California and we really enjoyed their visit.  Carlee went to Star Nursery with Joe and I to pick out some plants for our yard and she got her own pets--ladybugs to let out on our grass.  When the cousins arrived, Uncle Jay helped her let them out and then we grilled hot dogs and burgers, swam, and roasted s'mores.

The next night we ditched the kids and went on a double date with Cath and Jay to dinner at Cheesecake Factory and then to Angel Park putting course.  We had so much fun.
Angel Park is so pretty with waterfalls, ponds, roses, and hopping bunnies all over the course.
I love when my sis comes to town.
And I love dating this guy!

Cub Scout Day Camp

Jacob got to attend his favorite scout activity of the entire year--Cub Scout Day Camp!  The theme was Adventure and they participated in the activities after school from 4:00-8:00 pm on April 18 and 19 and all day Saturday, April 20.  Jake loved every second of it and I got to go chaperone on Thursday afternoon.  It is something that we both look forward to every year.
Jacob was part of the Critter Hunters on his adventure

Designing and building his boat for the Regatta

Jacob became a pro at Archery and discovered that he really likes it and wants to become better.

Jacob learned to shoot BB guns with a clever little trick to see which of his eyes is dominant.

Jake also hit water bottles with a slingshot and pebbles.  He was quite good!
Jake got to ride a horse and play games during the rotation breaks.
He and his fellow critter hunters were also challenged to design a sturdy fort using odd materials.  This was their favorite part.  They had so much fun planning and building it.
And "boys will be boys" so there was some messing around and dizziness involved.
A pretty happy Adventurer after this year's Cub Scout Day Camp!
