Midsummer Night's Dream

Clark was in another school play this spring. It was Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and he played the role of Demetrius who is completely loved by Helena. This was an exciting play for him because they also get to perform it at the Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City in July. They will be travelling there for an overnight field trip and they get to stay in the dorms at SUU and see another play while being a part of the festival. He is pretty excited and we can't wait for the time to come.

Clark certainly has the talent for this acting stuff. Besides the fact that he loves it, he has a lot of confidence and really likes to ham it up on the stage without being embarrassed or nervous. Next year, however, he has informed me that he would like to focus on sports. BUT he also claims that it depends on what plays will be offered in their new school. It is really fun to watch my children try new things each year and we love to support and encourage them in their endeavors. Next stop...Shakespearean Festival!

Meeting with the king and queen to plan marriages that they do not want to be a part of.

Demetrius (Clark) telling Helena that he wants nothing to
do with her and that he doesn't love her.

Hiding behind a tree from Helena while she is chasing after him, professing her love.

Demetrius and Lysander fighting over Helena after the mischievous fairy, Puck,
casts a spell on them in which they both wake up loving her.

Still fighting over the same girl

Demetrius gets the girl while Lysander gets his original love, Hermia.

Celebrating their true loves
