Gilcrease Orchard and Harry Potter

Carlee's Kindergarten class went on a field trip to Gilcrease Orchard to learn how to make apple and pear cider, pick a pumpkin, and go on a hayride.  All of the students got to take home a pint-sized bottle of cider and I bought some extra for our family.  It was a beautiful morning, the apple cider was delicious, and the kids had a great time.

Learning about manure and how the apple trees grow in the orchard

Picking the perfect little pumpkin

They even harvest bees and honey at the orchard

Later that evening for our annual Haunted Halloween dinner and Family Home Evening, I decided to host a Harry Potter-themed meal.  I didn't go all out on decor around the house and table due to our activity-filled weekend and a field trip but everybody loved the food and it was fun and different.  This will definitely make it into the tradition rotation.
A toast to Halloween festivities with Butterbeer and apple cider.  Cheers!
